Ilisagvik College provides quality post-secondary academic, vocational and technical education in a learning environment that perpetuates and strengthens Iñupiat culture, language, values and traditions. It is dedicated to serving its students and developing a well-educated and trained workforce who meet the human resource needs of North Slope employers and the state of Alaska.
Ilisagvik College is the only accredited, Alaska Native controlled higher education institution in Alaska, and is the only college located within the boundaries of the Arctic Slope. In 2005, we also became the only Tribal College in the state. We offer two-year Associate Degrees and certificates in vocational, academic, and workforce development fields. Every program we offer at the college not only models our Iñupiat traditions, values, and culture, but also has substantial career and employment opportunities in the Arctic as well as elsewhere in Alaska. We serve students at our campus in Barrow and via distance delivery.
We also offer our students an educational experience tailored to fit their needs and schedules. Ilisagvik reaches out to students and offers a way for them to get the education they needs to provide for themselves and their families.
